Dental Crowns or “Caps”

Our goal is to provide dentistry in Limerick PA that is undetectable and yet functions like natural teeth. We replace existing defective crowns and fillings with restorations that look and feel like your natural teeth. A crown will restore a tooth to its normal shape, size and function. Its purpose is to strengthen or improve the appearance of a tooth.

Where damage to a person’s teeth is extreme, and apparently beyond repair, we can use all ceramic, metal free restorations to make the smile appear “as new”. This is an extremely reliable technique for repairing the most severe of dental problems in Phoenixville PA, even permanently replacing missing teeth to offer a complete smile and a functional bite. We are renowned for the quality of our work and the fantastic changes we make for people using this technology. These treatments are used for a long-lasting correction of major dental problems. It is usual for these treatments to last for 20 to 30 years, which is as close to permanent as dental treatment can get.

“After waiting many years to have 2 crowns replaced, I let Dr. Patel do her magic. The team here did a wonderful job restoring my smile, wow. Great job team!”
B.W, Gilbertsville.

How long does it take to fit a dental crown?

CEREC® Omincam’s state-of-the-art technology allows Dr. Patel to create and place crowns, inlays, onlays, and veneers the same day, in only one visit.
These all-ceramic, metal free restorations are bonded to your tooth, allowing Dr. Patel to be more conservative with the tooth preparation, saving more enamel. Images of the prepared tooth are taken using the “Omnicam” a digital video camera, eliminating the need for those messy impressions.
A virtual 3D image of your new restoration is created and sent electronically to our very own 3D printer (milling machine). You can now sit back and watch your restoration being created. This advanced technology means we don’t need to fabricate a temporary crown…and best of all NO SECOND VISIT.
With CEREC, you can get the dental treatment you need, in one day, then get back to your busy life and the things that matter most.  Check out what our patient has to say about this amazing technology:

A crown can:

  • Restore a tooth when there isn’t enough tooth remaining to support a large filling
  • Protect a weak tooth from fracturing
  • Restore a fractured tooth
  • Cover a badly shaped or discolored tooth
  • Cover a dental implant

What are the capabilities of crowns?

Crown and bridgework is a very reliable solution for major dental problems caused by accidents, diseases or wear and tear in Douglasville PA. Major problems can usually be corrected using these techniques. Materials used in these repairs is either high-grade porcelain or porcelain bonded to gold. A higher strength of the porcelain and gold materials is recommended to treat the most serious of dental problems. Where accidental damage has occurred, resulting in lost teeth, or where teeth have broken away through excessive wear, or as the result of old fillings breaking, crowns and/or bridges can be used as a long-term solution.

Many people have unexplained pain from filled back teeth, which is usually due to hairline cracks in the chewing part of the tooth. Placing crowns on these teeth relieves the pain and allows a return of full dental function for these teeth. In front teeth, older fillings can both weaken the teeth and cause “appearance” problems due to staining or chipping. Porcelain crowns and bridges are suitable in cases where porcelain veneers are not. In teeth with root canal fillings, crowns can prevent breakage.
